You know how I've occasionally mentioned that I prefer playing against human opponents in multi-player games (particularly board games), because the AI is limited in it's options?
Well, here's an interesting story about how some Berkely AI students won the Starcraft 2 AI challenge. It's a bunch of AI scripts battling it out.
The key is, that the AI that they built can micro manage units better than any human can, so if it is ever optimized it will be unstoppable.

Duke Nukem is finally here?
I think I remember playing the freeware first title back of Duke Nukem back in high school. I didn't play the 3D version. But apparently Duke Nukem forever took 12 fricking years to develop. There's a great story about it here.
